Iranian Dance Programs at the Yasmin Centre
The Yasmin Centre will be hosting and partnering with the Iranian-Canadian dance scholar and practitioner, Ms. Aram Bayat, and her Montreal-based school , Khorshid Khanoom- Madame Soleil, to promote their dance philosophy and curriculum in Toronto.
Due to ongoing restrictions imposed on dance in Iran, the promotion, practice, and teaching of this old art in Toronto can address an important gap.
Iranian-Canadian dancer and instructor, Ms. Anahita Nayebi, will serve as the program's executive director.
The Khorshid Khanoom dance programs aim to promote the practice and teaching of the rich traditions of Iranian Dance and West Asia (Middle East) and Central Asia. through its network of experienced instructors to audiences and students of all ages in the Greater Toronto Area.,
*Students in the Khorshid Khanoom dance department at Yasaman Center can participate in Khorshid Khanoom dance performances after acquiring the necessary skills.
In a world where politics, religion and ethnicity too often serve as source of division, the art of dance, as a common language, can bring people together.
